Intermodal Services 

Intermodal is essential to nearly all ocean freight shipments. Ports are rarely the origin and destination; containers travel through various modes of transport. Starwood Global Logistics is strategically positioned around the Port of Houston. We have warehouses within 5 miles of both Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals. We employee 20’, 40’, 20/40’ combo, and multi-axle chassis to meet all demands. We can offer same day drayage, transloading, and final mile across the continent.   

We’re proud to support the backbone of America’s energy infrastructure. Our team recently managed an intricate shipment of gas circuit breakers from Pasadena to Granbury – a critical delivery ensuring the safety and reliability of high-voltage electrical systems. These essential components, including SF6 circuit breakers, use pressurized sulfur hexafluoride gas to safely interrupt electrical arcs and prevent damage from overloads or short circuits.

Starwood Global should be your first call for complex projects, offshore and around the world. Our team has assisted in cable lay operations in Guyana, vessel loadouts in Nigeria, pipeline trenching in Guantanamo Bay, just to name a few. 

Starwood Global welcomed the MPV Volantis into the Gulf of Mexico. Upon arrival, Starwood Global managed a complex set of tasks to ensure that the vessel berthed in a timely manner and was supplied with all the necessary components to ensure a gas pipeline was trenched. Starwood Global applied for berth applications, performed crew reception and transportation, fuel and water bunkering, cargo delivery and countless resupply vessels.

Starwood Global stands ready to move your air cargo quickly, safely, and across borders. Whether it’s next day delivery across continents or high priority domestic goods, Starwood Global is extremely well equipped to execute your airfreight needs. 

In the fall of 2024, Starwood Global was contracted to avert a potentially dire situation. Our customer’s multi-purpose vessel was stranded in Curacao and in need of an immediate thruster replacement. A cruise ship was bearing down on the berth, and local authorities were threatening to push the MPV to anchorage. Starwood Global stepped in and successfully transported the replacement thruster from Belgium to the berth in Curacao. Not an easy task, the thruster was trucked from Belgium to Lyons Airport in France, then flown via charter to Auruba, and finally barged to Curacao.

Starwood Global roots trace back to vessel husbandry and agency in the ports lining the Gulf Coast. We maintain strong partnerships at every terminal and can accomplish the seemingly impossible. Through the decades, Starwood Global has become a trusted expert in the field and a household name in all major US ports. 

Rewind to the hurricane season of 2024 – Starwood Global chartered a vessel into Houston’s City Docks. Hurricane Beryl was rapidly approaching, and there was an urgent need to offload 350 solar inverters and find high ground or temporary shelter from an inevitable storm surge. Starwood Global oversaw quay operations, aggressive vessel unloading, and transport to higher ground. The Port of Houston was heavily impacted, but Starwood Global managed to stave off any damage and all 350 solar inverters were delivered ahead of schedule and intact.
